In his book Resilience Iain Dale seeks to spark a national debate on the ability of the United Kingdom as a nation, and its population as individuals, to withstand threats to both our national security and infrastructure, but also to our way of life. He concludes that virtually all the UK’s public institutions are woefully ill-prepared for the threats posed to them by external forces who would do them harm, and asserts that although the government mouths platitudes about improving national resilience, there is a lack of political will to do what needs to be done.

The book will not only cover military threats and different types of wargae, but will also look at cybersecurity, threats from space, food security, AI. energy security, banking security, internet security, water security, the NHS, national infrastructure, governmental, coimmunity and individual reslience.

Iain believes that we live in an era of complacency where we are blind to the threats to our national and personal way of life, and urges a complete rethink by politicians in their approach to building national resilience and doing it speedily. Before it is too late.
