| Guido Fawkes is best known as one of Britain's leading political bloggers, writing the pseudonymous "Guido Fawkes' blog of parliamentary plots, rumours & conspiracy". He acquired an interest in politics as a libertarian in the 1980s and then spent several years in finance. In 2005, his blog was voted the best in the Political Commentary category of The Backbencher Political Weblog Awards, run by The Guardian. He was also named at number 36 in the "Top 50 newsmakers of 2006" in The Independent. He is married with one daughter.
