Description of WHERE EGOS DARE

'The real problem is that when we disclose the size of our losses, the market – which is to say our major institutional shareholders – will expect top management to take responsibility. That means me. They might even expect me to fall on my sword. I'm not a falling on my sword type. Why should I? I genuinely have very little understanding of anything that goes on here, so why expect me to take responsibility for it?'
The fourth of David Charters' cult series of hilarious City satires, Where Egos Dare charts Dave Hart's navigation through the 2008 credit crunch and the ensuing economic crisis as Chairman of Grossbank, the largest investment bank in the world.
When a rogue trader is discovered at the heart of Grossbank and the company loses billions of pounds, will Dave Hart be able to take on a stockmarket in the middle of a financial meltdown and win?

Press and Industry Reviews

'Dave Hart is one of the great comic creations of the twenty-first century... [a] sharply observed satire of the greed, the arrogance, the egomania and the incompetence that made twenty-first century finance the disaster it has become.'
