Description of Michael Foot at 90 |
To mark his 90 birthday Oneword Radio's Planet Politics programme decided to interview Michael Foot in a special hour long programme. Political commentator Iain Dale talks to Foot about his early influences, the founding of Tribune Magazine, Guilty Men, nuclear disarmament, the war on Iraq, Foot's period as Labour Party leader in the early 1980s and his love for Plymouth Argyle FC. Michael Foot was leader of the Labour Party from 1980 to 1983. He co-founded Tribune Magazine in 1937 and was the co-author of the famous Guilty Men in 1940. He is a prolific author and his new book of essays, The Uncollected Michael Foot, is being published this summer. This CD is produced jointly by Politico's Media and Oneword.
